Do you go to the dungeon?

Detect-O-Vision!

What color maps to what school!

  • Fuligin - Necromancy
  • Grue - Illusion
  • Hooloovoo - Divination
  • Octarine - Transmutation
  • Smaudre - Conjuration
  • Gloxym - Enchantment
  • Jale - Abjuration
  • Ulfire - Evocation

Normal human eyes cannot see these colors but under the influence of Detect Magic♥

Fuligin is darker than black, darker than super black, darker than vantablack. Those just look like a hole, while fuligin look like what you'd see if that hole was endless and crawling.

Grue probably better known as aoi, it's the color of tomatoes and the sea and the sky and the leaves and the grass and emeralds and calcedonies. A color that changes over time.

Hooloovoo, it looks like when blue is having a proper think, a blue that considers, listens, reasons and predicts.

Octarine is your garden-variety lime-colored purple. Probably better known as the colour (with a u) of Magic. Pigment of a figment.

Smaudre is a color that dreams furiously, the color of glass, of water, of a mirror. I find it quite lovely.

Gloxym is the true color of the sky. A CRT monitor tuned to a dead newsgroup.

Jale is dreamlike, feverish and voluptuous. Just look for the girl with kaleidoscope eyes. Sort of like a citrus fruit but overflowing, generous, warm.

Ulfire is wild and painful, like a bruise, spreading over the savannah under the skin, scaring all the zebras and gazelles and capillaries.
